Costumes and Traditions

New Zealand Food
New Zealand is an island nation with itswaters containing a large variety of fish and sea but meat has been the main preference for meals.

Breakfast
A typical New Zealand breakfast consists of cereal and some toasts accompanied by a cup of coffee, tea or a glass os juice or milk. Sometimes on the weekend there is time for a cooked breakfast.

Lunch
Normally you can have some sandwiches or hot peas for lunch though some people enjoy the healthier salads and fruit. Sometimes New Zealand has got a 'Sundar lunch' with roast beef and roast potatoes,  all slowly cooked in the oven.

Desserts
The favourite desserts in New Zealand is the Paulova. It is a type of meregue covered in whipped cream, then, topped with fresh drink such as Kiwi fruit.

Lemon and Paeroa (L and P) : the New Zealand Fizzy Drink

Originaly produced in the small town of Paeroa in 1907, it was made from  local natural mineral water and lemon. It is now sold troughout New Zealand and it's considered and icon of New Zealand. Today, in the town of Paeroa, you will see a 7 metre tall replica of a bottle of Lemon and Paeroa.

New Zealand Beer
The most common beers to be found in New Zealand are Lemon Red, Steinglager, DB, Export Gold, Macs Gold, Speights an tui. There are many more samaller breweries producing their own beer too.
